RSM Community Drum Circle
Every 1st and 3rd Saturday @11am
Come make music with us! The RSM Community Drum Circle is a fun, welcoming way for people of all ages and experience levels to connect through rhythm, music, and community.
Led by RSM instructors and special guest teaching artists, each one-hour session gives participants an opportunity to explore rhythms, learn together, improvise, and experience the joy of making music as a group.
No prior drumming or musical experience is necessary. Whether you’re picking up a drum for the first time or have been playing for years, you’re welcome to join the circle.

Fred Katz
Fred Katz is a drummer, vocalist, music educator, and longtime Richardson School of Music instructor who brings warmth, energy, and a deep love of making music with others. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Fred creates an encouraging and welcoming environment where people of all experience levels can relax, connect, find the groove, and enjoy making music together. His focus on rhythm, listening, creativity, and community makes him a wonderful facilitator for RSM’s Community Drum Circle.

Jabari Exum
Our very first gathering kicks off Saturday, October 3, led by acclaimed percussionist, educator, and Peabody Conservatory faculty member Jabari Exum, who served as a movement coach and lead djembe player for Marvel’s hit films Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
