About Mr. Noah
Originally from Montgomery County, MD, Noah Booz is a guitarist, songwriter and entrepreneur based in Brookeville, MD. He graduated with a BA in Jazz Performance from the University of Maryland in December of 2015. Noah has taught independently for over 7 years and joined the Richardson School of Music from 2013-2018 before joining again for virtual lessons. He has performed and done session work with many musicians in the D.C metro area, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Los Angeles.
As a solo guitar player, Noah has been inspired by a variety of musicians and artists from a young age, which have influenced his sound over the years. These include Jerry Garcia, Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jim Hall, Julian Lage, Alex Lifeson, Tommy Emanuel, Monty Montgomery, Jimmy Page and many others. As a songwriter, Noah’s tendencies fall towards folk, pop and indie/alternative sound, though he enjoys challenging himself to write in other styles such as Jazz, Country, R&B, Chamber and more.
A lover of language, Noah has always been fascinated at the ways people communicate. He believes music is a language as well, just as nuanced as English, Spanish or any other language. Because of that it becomes another way in which we speak and interact with the world. His mission is to make the language of music accessible while inspiring a fascination in the art of speaking it.
In addition to teaching music lessons, Noah is currently working on a children’s book series, and runs a small business that designs innovative word games for the tabletop game community as well as for digital platforms.
