Di Yue is a trumpet performance major at the University of Maryland. Growing up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she has been a part of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, and Bravo Brass under the direction of Paul Bryan. Di has also participated in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) ensemble at the District, Regional and All-State ensembles and the All Eastern Band. She has won 3rd place at the National Trumpet Competition High School Division twice in 2014 and 2015, and won a full scholarship to the Interlochen Arts Camp. She has also been a Merit Winner of the National YoungArts Foundation and participated in their Regional Program. She was a camp counselor at Interlochen from 2015 to 2016.
Following her transfer from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music to UMD she participated at the Eastern Music Festival. Last summer Di went to Canada and participated in Domaine Forget studying with Sergei Nakariakov. At UMD she is a member of the Wind Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra. Di currently studies with Chris Gekker formerly with Roger Blackburn, Jeffrey Curnow, Anthony Prisk, and Alan Siebert.
